Rocky Mountain Printing Purchases Brand New Komori Press

 Rocky Mountain Printing has purchased a brand new Komori LS40 6 color 40 inch press with inline aqueous coating. The LS40 is a new design from Tokyo, Japan based Komori Corporation. The LS40 boasts the fastest makeready of any sheetfed press in the world as well as a running speed few presses can rival. The LS40 can print on a variety of papers from extremely thin paper up to 40 point board stock, enabling it to satisfy a wider range of customer needs.
Since it's introduction less than 1 year ago, the LS40 has won numerous awards including the 2002 Mechanical Engineering Design Award from the Japanese Minister of Economy and Trade, Germany's 2003 prestigious iF Design Award and the 2003 Graphic Arts Technical Foundation (GATF) Intertech Technology Award.

Because of all the new technology and the many new features on the LS40, Rocky Mountain Printing is sending several of it's pre-press and pressroom employees to Chicago (Komori America's headquarters) to be trained by Komori instructors.
Founded in 1990, Rocky Mountain Printing has plants in Orem and St. George. They were one of the first printing companies in Utah to adopt computer to plate technology and a completely digital workflow. Rocky Mountain Printing has 7 presses that can print one to six colors on business cards up to 28" x 40" posters and boxes. In addition to the pressroom they have a complete pre-press and bindery. In 2002 Rocky Mountain Printing was honored to be named as one of the Top 50 Fastest Growing Printing Companies in America by American Printer Magazine. Rocky Mountain Printing has customers throughout the United States.
